Making a Difference in People's Lives

Empowering Individuals and Communities

At Hand Services Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families in need. We believe that everyone deserves a chance to build a better future, and we are committed to providing the tools and support necessary to make it happen. Through our holistic approach, we offer job training, educational programs, and financial assistance to empower individuals and shift them towards a better standard of living and a world of independence.

Who We Are

Highly qualified and
motivated professionals who are compassionate.

Our nonprofit organization has a tradition in the community. It was founded in 2018 by Neva Rogers after experiences a tragedy in her life.

She attended Walden University, where she obtained a master's degree in public administration with a focus of nonprofit management and leadership. This degree taught the value of impacting social change. Even if it is done one person at a time.

Our desire is to be a light in our community where we can reach the demographics which are less served.  This includes the elderly, homeless, our teenagers, and low-income families.

                                             Our Mission

The mission of AHSI is to provide economic relief to shift our clients to a better standard of living and a world of independence.

Letter From the Founder & CEO
Neva Rogers

I grew up poor in Irvington, Alabama. I was the seventh child of eight children born to Charles and Natricia Rogers. We grew our own vegetables, lived off seafood, and food stamps (the paper kind). Once I grew up and had my own four children, I understood that life is not quite what it seems.

Agencies available to provide assistance to those in need are very important. It did not make a difference if I was poor or had a well-paying job as a middle-class citizen, I still qualified for food stamps. Then there were the times where I did not qualify for food stamps because we made $20 too much. I was determined to not rely on food stamps, but to be able to provide for my family independently.

Unfortunately, I experienced a divorce after 15 years and marriage and was homeless with one of my four children. I had to start over again. After moving from my cousin’s house to an apartment that was being worked on around me, I knew I had to make some decisions for me and my daughter that was with me. I got a job at a local bank, entered public housing, committed myself to serve in my local church, and volunteered. I was working my plan which included for fighting for residential custody of my other three children who lived in Texas with their father. January 14, 2017, a year and a half later after my divorce, my ex-husband and my three beautiful children were all killed in a car accident.

My entire outlook on life changed. Time is precious. I knew I was called to help others. At Hand Services Inc. was created to help those who are forgotten in 2018. Those who have fallen through the cracks. Providing essential services, geared towards living a life with independence and confidence is what At Hand Services Inc. is all about. If someone wants a better life, we are a tool to be used to assist with self-sufficiency. At Hand Services Inc.'s ultimate goal, and our motto, is impacting social change, one person at a time because we are At Hand Services.

"Change is At Hand"
